This last drawing was inspired by Lucian’s True Histories, which we read in my Intermediate Greek class. This Ancient Greek sci-fi text filled me with a sense of childlike wonder and delight. In this scene, a Greek ship gets caught in a powerful typhoon, which hurls it into outer space. The sailors eventually land on the moon, and discover that it’s inhabited.
